In the modern day, technology has given us many conveyances and entertainment to our lives.
Nearly everyone has access to an endless amount of archived knowledge though the internet. In terms of literature, this has given individuals access to countless works from the past and present. So, as part of National Reading Month, we’d like to highlight the works of various authors and writers. It might be a short list, but it will give you a lot of reading selections though paper or screen.

Past Authors

Let us start with Emily Dickinson, an 1800’s Poet who developed several poems and books in her time. Many works including “Hope” is the thing with feathers and Because I could not stop for Death. A 19th century author you might have heard of is Hans Christian Anderson, if not you might know his work. Fairy Tale classics like The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina and The Emperor’s New Clothes. Although both writers have long past, their works remain for us to read and continue to learn from.

Modern Authors

Today, there are plenty of authors whose work can be found in entertainment and scientific research. Such as Katherine Ellison, an author whose work is focused on neurotypical brain development. Several books such as ADHD: What Everyone Needs to Know and The Mommy Brain. As for the entertainment side, let’s look at book writer and Screenwriter, John Irving. Known for his works like the book The World According to Garp and the film The Cider House Rules.

The methods and reasons for authors to continue creating literature grow beyond one field. From the literature that keeps us learning more about the facts about the world.
