Canoga Park, CA, February 29, 2024 – Hailing from Inglewood, CA, former basketball prodigy Schea Cotton joins The Able Show this week. Considered one of the most promising players of his generation, Cotton has left a legacy that continues to inspire many. As a guest on The Able Show, he offers an insightful perspective on life, his basketball career, and his disability.

Cotton’s journey to basketball stardom is nothing short of inspirational. Initially underestimated, he made a name for himself through outstanding performances at Mater Dei High School, leading his team to victory in the 1994 Southern Division I-A championship and advancing to the Southern California regional finals. Soon after, he was diagnosed with auditory learning, making him process information best by hearing and listening. Undeterred by this new challenge, he persisted in his athletic career until retirement.

Off the court, Cotton is known for his humility and dedication to his community. He actively engages in philanthropic endeavors, using his platform to inspire and uplift others. Through basketball camps, mentorship programs, and charitable initiatives, Cotton remains committed to positively impacting both on and off the hardwood. On The Able Show, he shares his outstanding journey, set to encourage viewers to fight for their dreams. Executive Producer Davina Douthard says he is an excellent representation of how the system can fail individuals with disabilities. Yet, they rise to the challenge in pursuit of their dreams.
