Because of his role in the latter film, he instantly became an icon in the African-American film community.

His versatility in acting has garnered him numerous accolades in the film industry, including his recurring role as Timmy Rawlins in the Emmy/Golden Globes Award-winning TV show ER (1994). Since then, he’s been writing, directing, and producing numerous projects, including the 2006 horror film Voodoo Curse: The Giddish.
