Trace Austin has a flare for international music, derived from his world travels to Greece, Italy, France, Spain, and South America, living in England, and commuting between London and California until age 16. His travels have helped him to develop a love for the diversity in music and diverse cultural expressions. At age 6, he and his family moved to the United States, giving yet another body of music to appreciate, as Indigenous Black American music has influenced world music.
Trace Austin Born Into Musical Royalty
Emerging from a history of excellence in music, Austin learned firsthand how to appreciate music and understand the rigors and responsibilities of being a musician from his grandfather, Otis Williams, founder and original member of The Temptations. Williams helped mold Austin’s career since he was a young teen, which has helped Austin develop into the well-rounded musician he is today. Austin performed at The Miracles Rebirth Motown 65, honoring the legacy of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.
Austin learned media savvy firsthand from his grandfather, Williams. He has appeared in various media interviews with his grandfather, Otis Williams, across the country. Austin has made many media appearances, including FOX 5 DC, Good Day Texas, ABC KTLA Morning Show, New Orleans Fox 8, and more.
