Studio Unbiased is a multi-faceted design studio based in Los Angeles, specializing in Custom Clothing, Couture Adaptations, Redesign and Consulting. They are on a very short list of top tier couture tailors in Los Angeles; but their clients are worldwide. They include stylists, costume designers, luxury brands, and the designers themselves, who trust us explicitly to work with their celebrity clients on gowns that are front and center for the world to see. They are a small company that does big things; case in point, they worked with Usher and his team for his Super Bowl halftime performance watched by 130 Million people. “We are a business built on impeccable work, professionalism, and integrity. No smoke and mirrors and we’re very proud of that” says Eric Stern. Their clients include Oprah Winfrey, Hellen Mirren, Lenny Kravitz, and the Academy Award winning Costume Designer Ruth Carter.
The owner and creative conscious is Wendi Williams-Stern, a true artisan. Wendi is highly skilled, and those skills run the gamut, be it hand beading, haute couture, vintage, bridal, ready to wear, or costume. There isn’t much she hasn’t seen. In her past incarnation, Wendi was a member of the R&B/Pop group For Real which had the success of two major record deals and the opportunity to work with some of music’s elite from Stevie Wonder, Sting to Babyface to name a few. She also was the voice for Halle Berry in the award winning film “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge”. Wendi’s voice has taken her all around the world, where she’s been deeply inspired by diverse cultures and experiences which has translated to her fashion aesthetic.
Co-owner Eric Stern, is an entrepreneur in every sense. He has a passion for fashion, music and marketing. He has managed musical artists, produced and promoted shows domestically and abroad. He was the owner of BAT(h)QOL. A clothing and accessories company in Los Angeles with additional specialty in custom designs. The label was in One Hundred stores nationally. He has artfully created press opportunities in magazine editorials, product placement in television and film.
