Elan Carter, a New Jersey native, went to Hollywood when her mother married Otis Williams, the founding and only remaining member of the original R&B group, The Temptations. Elan Carter Dancing Her Way To Stardom
At 16, Elan Carter accompanied a neighbor invited to dance on Soul Train. The young man didn’t want to stay, but Carter was. She quickly rose through the ranks of Soul Train, participating on the Scrabble Board and rising on the risers. She danced for Soul Train for years, even sneaking over to American Band Stand, but returned to Soul Train.
Elan Carter’s Rise to World Renown Model
The visibility achieved through Soul Train made Elan Carter one of the most successful models of her time. Carter has modeled worldwide in Mexico, Europe, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. Among the artists she has appeared on stage and in videos with are the Jacksons, Duran Duran, Bobby Brown, Richard Marx, and Tone-Loc.
Elan Carter + Playboy Playmate of the Month
Elan Carter also caught the eye of the late Hugh Hefner and quickly emerged as a rising star. In the June 1994 issue of Playboy, Elan was the Playmate of the Month. She went on to appear in several Playboy videos. A multi-talented entertainer, Carter gained fame as a Playboy Playmate and later expanded her career into acting and producing. Her acting credits include guest appearances on TV shows like Team Knight Rider, Mike Hammer, Black Scorpion, and the iconic sitcom Seinfeld.
Elan Carter is currently managing the career of her son Trace Austin, a rising recording artist and actor. He is the newest member of the remake of the Iconic Motown group The Miracles.
