Canoga Park, CA, January 4, 2024 – The Able Show, a groundbreaking show celebrating inspiration and resilience, is proud to announce former NBA superstar Olden Polynice as its host. Polynice, known for his remarkable basketball career, will bring his charisma, sense of humor, and exuberant personality that will captivate audiences in this exciting new venture. Created by Davina Douthard, the show is a collaboration between Polishing The Professional, a full-service career center, and Dream Magic Studios, a full-service production studio.
Born November 21, 1964, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Polynice’s journey from high school basketball in the Bronx, New York, to the University of Virginia to a fantastic career in the NBA has been nothing short of extraordinary. “I never dreamed of playing basketball, let alone in the NBA; I was born with a physical disability that affected my ability to walk. So, running, later, was an amazing feat.” Polynice reflects. Retiring from professional basketball after 17 years, he explored various pursuits, including running a successful inclusive basketball training camp. When approached by Davina Douthard, Executive Producer of The Able Show, to host, Polynice enthusiastically embraced the idea, marking a new chapter in his diverse career post-basketball.
The Able Show aims to inspire individuals with disabilities, a cause close to Polynice’s heart, as he shares a connection with autism through his grandchildren. His commitment to the show is evident in his active participation during rehearsals, showing his charisma. Polynice expressed his excitement about the podcast, stating, The Able Show is a platform to inspire not only those with disabilities but also my children, especially my grandchildren with autism.” Polynice promises to attract a broad audience as a host, bringing attention to the podcast’s empowering messages.
